Explore the lagoon at sunset from the traditional fishing net pots

A fishing net pot is a wooden structure made up of a platform and long arms fitted with big nets.

In addition to being a type of fishing equipment, it is also a small shelter for fishermen. It is where fish is treated as soon as it is caught, but it is also a place to relax or share fried fish with friends after work.

In order to reach the river where the fishing net pots are located, you can take a private boat which sets off from the banks of the Pordelio canal, navigating the calm waters of the Venetian lagoon to the “gates” of Cavallino-Treporti, then reaching one of the fishing nets built on stilts on the river Sile.

While waiting for the breath-taking sunset on the lagoon, nibble on some local specialities while sipping a delicious glass of Prosecco from one of the area’s historic taverns.
